According to BDM (Birth, Death, Marriage) or BBB (Baptism, Banns, Burial) records I am descended from the marriage of Thomas Hope (1757-1820) and his wife Sophia Henderson (1751-??), through their son David Hope (1777-1856). All of whom lived in or around Jedburgh, Roxburghshire, Scotland.
As far as I can see but it is NOT confirmed, Thomas was the son of Thomas Hope and his wife Isobel Field. However, we know that Sophia Henderson was the daughter of David Henderson (1725-??) and his wife Jean Scott (1731-??).
We also know that Thomas Hope (both the son and father mentioned above) were Gamekeepers.
Researching further back starts getting a bit murkier but according to other researchers, the family tree goes as follows:

It appears that Thomas and Sophia had 5 sons. They being:
